Melanie Christian
Lead Assistant Principal
melaniec@angletonisd.netMelanie Christian is thrilled to serve as Angleton High School’s Lead Assistant Principal this year. Her passion and dedication to the education and success of every student creates an environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
Mrs. Christian has over 30 years of experience as an educator, spending the last 27 years in Angleton ISD and three of those years as an Angleton High School Assistant Principal. Before becoming an administrator, she taught secondary English/Language Arts from 6th grade through English IV at different campuses throughout the district. Her vast experience gives her invaluable insight into our students' unique needs and aspirations.
Mrs. Christian holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University. She also holds a Master of Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston.
Mrs. Christian loves working with students to ensure their success, whether college, career, military, extracurricular, or any combination of the four. She believes in a growth mindset, positive attitude, and strong work ethic. She plans to work collaboratively with AHS's exceptional team of educators to develop innovative teaching approaches and curricula while fostering a love of learning that extends beyond textbooks and encourages students to be critical and creative thinkers.
Mrs. Christian believes in open and collaborative communication with parents, guardians, and the community. By working together, each student will receive the support and resources needed to achieve their full potential. An open-door policy will help bridge the communication gap and communicate the essential information needed in English or Spanish.
Mrs. Christian is excited to work alongside the entire Angleton High School community to continue our tradition of excellence. Together, “we can inspire, challenge, and empower our students to positively impact our world” because it is always a GREAT day to be a WILDCAT!

Amber Crawford, MEd
Assistant Principal (L-Re)

Mrs. Amber Crawford is the assistant principal for students with a last name beginning with letters L through Re. Mrs. Crawford comes from a family of educators and has always had a connection to education. Mrs. Crawford has taught fourth and fifth grade math and science as well as seventh and eighth grade math and science. She has held leadership positions at both the elementary and secondary levels in the education field. When asked what inspired her to become an assistant principal, Mrs. Crawford states, “I am constantly amazed at the positive things students and staff do on a daily basis. I want to support them in accomplishing those great things.” Mrs. Crawford graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Human Resource Management. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. Mrs. Crawford has decided to continue her studies and is currently working toward earning her Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Educational Technology Innovation.
Mrs. Crawford’s educational philosophy involves building relational capacity with students and staff and working collaboratively with others to achieve the best outcomes for students. Mrs. Crawford truly believes in the importance of the AHS goal of “capturing students’ hearts and minds and leading them to their personal best.”
Mrs. Crawford and her husband have three sons who all attend school here in Angleton ISD. In her spare time, Mrs. Crawford enjoys spending time with family, knitting, playing with her schnauzer, Max, and watching her sons play their favorite sports.

Michelle Doss
Assistant Principal (A-D)

Mrs. Doss graduated from AHS in 1998 in the top 10% of her graduating class. She attended Brazosport College and the University of Houston where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree and her Master of Science in Educational Management.
Mrs. Doss has 15 years of teaching experience and 3 plus years as an assistant principal - all in Angleton ISD. She has taught 4th, 5th and 6th grades at Angleton Middle School, Westside Elementary and Central Elementary.Mrs. Doss strives to set high expectations for the students and staff, seeks to be consistent with discipline and attendance, and wants to help teachers collaborate with students to provide top notch instruction.

Michael Harmon
Assistant Principal (Rh-Z)

Mr. Harmon has been an educator for the last 24 years, all at Angleton ISD. He has taught both Junior High and High School Social Studies, as well as being an Assistant Principal for both levels.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in History at the University of Houston. He also holds a Master of Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston. Mr. Harmon also worked with young men and women as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Brazoria County.Mr. Harmon loves being in a position to positively affect young adults in their journey to become independent, productive members of society. He believes in helping, guiding, and inspiring our students through building positive relationships and encouraging them to reach their potential. Mr. Harmon also wants to help teachers inspire their students and provide an engaging, exciting classroom environment.One of the most satisfying parts of being an AISD educator is watching so many young men and women walk across that stage every year and begin new chapters in their lives. Playing even just a small part of that process makes my job worthwhile.

Josh Lara
Assistant Principal (E-K)

Josh Lara is very excited about joining the Angleton High School team and AISD. He is in his 16th year of education, and his 9th year as a school administrator. Before becoming a school administrator, Mr. Lara was a special education math teacher and coach.
Mr. Lara earned his Bachelor of Science degree, with a major in Academic Studies and a minor in Special Education, from Sam Houston State University in 2008. He earned his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2014.
Mr. Lara believes in building relationships with everyone and wants to see all of his students and his staff grow and achieve their goals.
When Mr. Lara is not working with the students of AHS, he is spending time with his wife Lauren, of 16 years, and his 2 sons who attend school in AISD. He volunteers in the community as an assistant cub scout for Troop 513 and assistant boy scoutmaster for Troop 13 in Angleton.
