FAQs
What do I need in order to play soccer for AHS? First and foremost, anyone wanting to participate (tryout, practice, compete) MUST have a current athletic physical on file with our athletic training department before being allowed to practice and play. This needs to be done before the first day of school or before the first day of enrollment at AHS.
You will also need to fill out some online forms called "Rank 1". Rank 1 online forms are also required by our training and athletic staff. You can start this process here: Rank 1 Page
Is there a "soccer class" period? Yes, this is also known as our "soccer athletic period". You will need to be enrolled in this class period in order for you to try out for a soccer team in early December.
Are there soccer tryouts at AHS? Yes, we have tryouts for our two competitive soccer teams (Varsity & JV). The dates for the upcoming 2024-25 Season are December 2 & 3, 2024. In order to try out, you will need to be enrolled in the soccer athletic period, have gone through our offseason program from Aug-Nov, and be in academic good standing. If you do not make a team, you are more than welcome to try out for a different sport or take a different class the 2nd semester.
Does Angleton JH have a junior high soccer program? Yes! Angleton JH has a successful and booming soccer program! We have 2 teams (7th grade team & 8th grade team). These 2 teams compete in the Gulf Coast JH Conference in the months of April and May. Tryouts start the last week of March (exact dates TBA). You must have a current athletic physical to try out, practice, and compete in AJH Girls Soccer.
